We selected a group of keywords that were mentioned in the reviews. For example, flirty, flirtatious and terrifying to name a few. If you’re a horror fanatic, or a more hide behind the pillow type; we’re sure there will be a film on this list to get you in the mood this Valentine's day.

#1 Black Swan (2010)

After analysing over 10,000 IMDB reviews from members of the public, Black Swan (2010) ranks the highest taking first place as the scariest and horniest film of all time, with a staggeringly high horny score of 1420 points. The film follows the journey of Nina, a dancer totally committed to dance after landing her dream role in a production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. She slowly begins to lose her sanity and the film goes on to show her hallucinations and delusions about turning into a physical swan, with red eyes, growing feathers out of her back and her legs breaking underneath her; showcasing swan-like legs.

The word “sex” was mentioned 151 times in IMDB reviews. So this could be just the thing for you and your partner to get you in the mood. Released in 2010, and with an enormous budget of 13 million USD, this film managed to show us the darker side of being obsessed with your craft, and how mental illness can play a large part in your everyday life, both personally and professionally. One reviewer said “it's harrowing and at times difficult to watch, but that combination of beauty and horror makes it impossible to turn away.” If you’re a fan of angelic ballerina’s turning into more of the avian variety, then this is not one to miss!

#2 Blue Velvet (1986)

Blue Velvet (1986) takes second place for the sexiest horror film of all time, with a horny score of 1269 points. It blends psychological horror with neo-noir, to create a twisted tale with severed human ears, conspiracy theories and a relationship with a troubled lounge singer. Unlike Black Swan's enormous budget of 13 million USD, this film poses a humble 6 million USD budget. This tempted the likes of Dennis Hopper and Laura Dern onto the set, creating a tantalising cast for this sexy and surreal cinematic masterpiece. One horror enthusiast said “ Of course the film belongs to Hopper who is terrifyingly unstable” and we totally agree! If you’re looking for a sexy, suspenseful flick then this is a must-watch!

#3 American Psycho (2000)

American Psycho (2000) takes a modest third place with a horny score of 739 points. Released in 2000, American Psycho is considered a cult classic. Christian Bale plays an affluent New York City investment bank executive, the extremely suave Patrick Bateman. Patrick Bateman's co-workers and friends don't know about his alternate psychopathic ego, but as things progress he delves in deeper and deeper and indulges in his violent, hedonistic fantasies.
One avid reviewer said “A Brilliantly Written and Unique piece of cinema” , and from our research jump scare junkies everywhere agreed. For over 20 years, American Psycho has inspired a whole host of horror films and created a cult fan base of devoted fans who love the twists and turns of this sadistic film. If self-indulgent New York bankers are your thing, American Psycho could be the way to go this February 14th.

#4 Hellraiser (1987)

In at number four is Hellraiser, released in 1987, with a respectable horny score of 731 points. The plot follows a puzzle box that summons a group of fantasy beings, called the Cenobites. With sadomasochism at the forefront of their characters, they can’t differentiate between pain and pleasure, a standout theme in this film. Compared to the enormous budgets of some of the films on our list, the budget for this film is an extremely menial 1 million USD. Hellraiser has now become a franchise and eleven films in total have been produced, the most recent being released this year. Perfect timing for you love birds out there! One reviewer said “The idea that sex and pain could be united wasn't trite back in 1987, so it's difficult to convey the power and fear this film had. It feels wrong. It feels dirty. It feels evil.” Not only is this film famously horrifying, but also a trailblazer when it comes to combining sex and terror. If you’re looking to get in the mood with your partner, maybe Hellraiser is the option for you.

#5 Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)

To conclude our roundup, in at number five is Bram Stokers Dracula (1992) with an admirable score of 679 points. This early nineties vampiric romance film details a furious Vlad Dracula, who swears to avenge his lover Elisabeta’s death. He later encounters Mina, who is taken to be Elisabeta’s reincarnation.

With a mammoth budget of 215.9 USD and a star-studded cast featuring the likes of Winona Ryder, Keanu Reeves and Anthony Hopkins, this passionate phantom themed film could be the sexy mood setter you need. One reviewer said “We see that sexual tension dominates these films as well as the books. Dracula has power over people.” With the stakes this high, no wonder this takes the number 5 spot on our list. For the top 20 list of every film that made it onto the list, we’ve compiled it into the table below.
